Efforts to reduce unemployment through empowerment has received a boost as the CEO of Xan’s share the blessings foundation, Nigeria in person of Xan Burnom empowered a number of her volunteers and her social media followers.
This year empowerment project commenced with a volunteer called Olufunmilayo O. Anthony. She was given a start-up capital of 30,000 Naira to begin her Okrika business.
Also in January, Oluwaseun Aderemi (facebook volunteer) on the foundation facebook page was asked by the CEO herself what she needed and she told her she needed 8,000 Naira to buy food stuff and buy her eldest child a sandal. The CEO was touched by this and she decided to surprise her in 10 folds. She received 80,000 Naira instead of the 8,000 Naira she requested for. She was told to use the sum of money to boost her Phone Accessories business and empower herself. In addition to the 80,000 Naira she received from the CEO, On June 11th, 2019, She also received 20,000 Naira to add to her New Poultry Business.
Sometime in March 2019, the CEO empowered one of her volunteer’s (Praise Otiga) mum with 50,000 Naira just within 2 days as a startup capital for her business and she has since then been receiving regular cash support for more empowerment on the business.
In April 5th, 2019, another volunteer named Adetayo Modupe (Olufunmi) who is a fashion design apprentice was also empowered with a sewing machine.
Also, in April 12th, 2019, the CEO posted a message in her volunteers’ group and asked a question; “If you had 50k vs 100k, what would you do with it?” Several answers were given by the volunteers with different business initiatives and ideas on how to utilize the money.
A volunteer named Ojeleye Olusola (Holyboy) responded with the message “50k buck recharge card business, 100k fishery business is a goal”. Fortunately, the CEO approved his request of 100,000 Naira fishery project few days later. He has commenced the project and so far he has been doing great.
Earlier in May, Sunday Amadi David was also given 40,000 Naira to help him with his clothing (Fashion Design) business.
May 12th, 2019 happened to be a wonderful day for the Grandmother (Grandma X) of two Students (Ojuolape Darasimi and Ojuolape Pamilerin) in Xan’s Learning Center for Unique People School as Xan Burnom asked one of her teachers to take the woman for shopping with 30,000 Naira.
Also in May 29th, 2019 Favour ovenseri was empowered with 20,000 Naira for her fashion school payment and feeding.
Xan Burnom is someone who values and support education a lot, she has recently also empowered a facebook follower (Adekojo Samuel Valentino) who graduated 2 years ago but couldn’t proceed for the compulsory NYSC due to the money he owed in school. Though he asked for 11,000 naira but the CEO surprised him with 40,000 Naira.
Several others have also received financial support ranging from payment of hospital bills, food vouchers support, payment of school fees, purchase of phones and tablets for volunteers e.t.c.
